Alice Dean Mayfield, (83), of Roanoke, LA, passed away on September 23, 2020, in Jennings, LA.

Alice Charles-Mayfield was born in Roanoke, LA to the late Oliver and Laura Livingston-Charles on October 3, 1936.  She attended school at Roanoke elementary.  Thereafter, she united in holy matrimony to the late Martin Mayfield in Roanoke, LA. Out of this union, Alice gave birth to her one and only son who she loved dearly, Jerome Martin Mayfield. She worked as a nanny/caregiver for the Marcantel Family for over 30 years. Alice believed in helping others, sending time with family & friends, and capturing special moments. She was a spiritual woman and involved church member of St. James Baptist Church. Alice will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, husband Martin Mayfield, son; Jerome M. Mayfield, and siblings; Maudria, Leonard, J.B (John), and Lillie Haley.  She is survived by eight siblings, Gracie Shelton, Flora Roberts, Albertha Vital, Annie Handy, Ellen Nichols, Jane Velasquez, James Charles, and Ray Charles; 2 Grandchildren, Brittney Mayfield and Brandy Mayfield-Texada; and 5 great-Grandchildren, Christiana Jones, Cameron Jones, Paryss Texada, A'Riya Texada, and Bailey Texada.
