Mrs. Amelia Simon-Brown, 88 passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Jeff Davis Living Center. Amelia was a born in Lacassine, Louisiana on February 26, 1930 to Lilly and Eddy Simon. She was a resident of Jennings, LA and a faithful member of Union Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend Gerald W. Perkins, Sr. She served on the church's Usher Ministry and Mission Department. Amelia was married to the late Raymond Brown, Sr. and to that union four children were born. She was previously employed by the Fred B. and Ruth B. Zigler Foundation and the City of Jennings.
Amelia leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Raymond Brown, Jr; two daughters, Louwanda (Kirk) Simon and Veronica Brown; two grandchildren, Velvet Terry and Denzel Brown; two great-grandchildren, Patriana Sinegal and Nyla Terry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brown, Sr; daughter, Patricia Brown; mother, Lilly Simon; father Eddy Simon; three brothers, Bennett Simon, Aaron Simon, and Ollie Simon; three sisters, Emily Brown, Martha Narcisse, and Lovenia West.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Union Baptist Church, 1014 S. Main Street, Jennings, Louisiana with Reverend Gerald W. Perkins, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 8:00 am until time of funeral. Burial will be in the Benevolent Cemetery in Jennings, LA under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
