Andrew Keith Richmond, Sr., 63, of Lake Charles, LA., made his departure on December 31, 2023, in the comfort of his home.

He was born in Lake Charles, LA., on October 16, 1960, to Mr. Adrien "Ed" and Mrs. Anna Mae Richmond. As a young boy, he loved playing neighborhood football and following his father around faithfully. Andrew attended Mill St. Elementary and then moved to Reynard Middle, where he found his love for the school band and started playing the trumpet and cornet horns. He then advanced to being a Mighty Panther at W.O. Boston High School, where he was named the most outstanding trumpet player, most talented senior, and MVP of the marching band under the direction of Mr. Bernard Beaco. He graduated from W.O. Boston in 1978 and then attended McNeese State University. His aerospace mechanical career spanned over many years with Northrop Grumman.

Andrew's love for music took him in many different directions. He was a founding member of the band "Tower of Jam," of which he and his cousin DeWayne Sallier were members. He also played in the band with the local stars of "Cookie and the Cupcakes," but one of his most memorable musical moments was his gospel solo of "Jesus is Love" in the Reeves Temple Church Choir.

It was in 1991 when Andrew met the love of his life, Deidra Paul, while standing in a fast-food line. Andrew heard the voice of a woman he felt needed some assistance and quickly came to her defense. At that moment, Deidra knew that he would be her knight and shining aroma forever. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on December 14, 1991, and raised three sons.

Andrew will always be remembered for his musical talents, his classic El Camino, and the love and kindness that he always showed to his family. He was an advocate of preserving his family's history and worked tirelessly in the Hamilton Freeman Cemetery, keeping up his family's graves sites.

Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Adrien "Ed" Richmond Jr.; two brothers, Adrien Jule Richmond and Geary Richmond; brother-in-law, John Tousant Sr.; maternal grandparents, Harold Robinson, Ellen R. Rankins, and Steven Rankings (step-grandfather); paternal grandparents, A. Richmond and Maryrose Leblanc Richmond.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 33 years, Deidra P. Richmond; three sons, Brian (Shayla) Paul-Richmond, Andrew K. Richmond Jr., and Chad A. Richmond; mother, Anna Mae Richmond; sister, Felicia A. Richmond; godmother, Frances Sallier; two godsons, Marcus L. Sallier and Josh Semien; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Toussaint and Laura (Wendell) Coleman; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.
