Andrus Gobert, 78, was born on September 7, 1941, in Pot Cove, Louisiana.  He departed this life on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Andrus was the ninth of ten children born to the late Cameles Gobert and Laurentine Moreau-Guillory-Gobert Bellard.  He was a resident of Lake Charles for most of his life.  He was most commonly known as "Mr. A" and sometimes "Buddy."  Andrus attended Washington High School.  In 1961, he enlisted into the United States Army and dedicated 24-years. He retired as Sergeant First Class and served in Vietnam.

Andrus was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  He was a strong military man with a unique sense of humor.  He was compassionate, dedicated, and loyal to all whom he came across.  Fishing was his peaceful pleasure.  Playing cards was his enjoyment and being with his family was his satisfaction.  He was a prayer warrior, provider, and good listener. He would do anything for anyone.  Above all, he loved to travel… with his favorite place being the beautiful island of Hawaii.

To cherish his memories he leaves, his wife Josselin Sallier Gobert of 32 years; three sons, Andrus Gobert, Jr. (Angela) of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Silas Sallier of Indianapolis, IN, Joshua Sallier of Lake Charles, LA; five daughters, Pauline Jones (Royce) of Cleveland, Ohio, Starlette Gobert of Hayward, California, Teddra Jakes (Steven) of Hinesville, GA, Telena Mouton, Cassandra Dugas (Desire) of Lake Charles, LA; one sister, Dolores Guillory Jones of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers, Winson Guillory of Lake Charles, LA, Morris Gobert of Las Vegas, NV; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cameles Gobert and mother, Laurentine Moreau-Guillory-Gobert Bellard; step father, Leonard Bellard; five sisters, Rita Mabel Guillory, Mary Guillory St. Mary Johnson, Alida Guillory St. Mary, Mildred Guillory Richard, Ernestine Jean Guillory Foster; one brother, Nolton Guillory; one son, Demetrius Mouton; one granddaughter, Sharnika Mouton; one great-grandson, Joel Mouton Jr.
