Mrs. Barbara Lyon-Lewis
age 80, entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2017 in her residence. She was a native of Jennings, Louisiana and accepted the Lord as her savior early in life and was a member of Power House Church of God In Christ in Jennings, LA. pastored by Pastor Johnny Davis & First Lady Bertha Davis. She loved the Lord and she loved her family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara was employed for 30 plus years as a nurse at Jennings American Legion Hospital. Barbara was a graduate of Ross High School in Crowley, LA. and later received an Associates Degree in Practical Nursing. She was employed at Jennings American Legion Hospital for 30-years, Jeff Davis Living Center and the Guesthouse as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was married to her true love, Clarence Bluddy Lewis, Sr. and to that union, four children were born.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Stacy (John) Lewis McClelland-Gordon, of Jennings; 4 grandchildren, Chessica (Natron Sr.) McClelland Pilote, Denay Angelle McClelland of Thibodeaux, LA. and Tyrone Levi, Jr. of Natchitoches, LA; 4 great-grandchildren; Her brother and sister-in-law, Dewey (Marcelene) Lewis of Lake Charles , LA. and Margie Renee Moses of Jennings, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bluddy Lewis, Sr; her parents, Odellia Billups and Joseph Castille; 3 children, Valarie Denay (Lewis) Dalton, Bernadette Diane Lewis, and Clarence Bluddy Lewis, Jr.
A Memorial Celebration of Life for Barbara Ann Lyons Lewis, 80 of Jennings, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Semien-Lewis Mortuary Church Chapel with Pastor Johnny R. Davis officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m until 11 a.m. in the funeral home church chapel, located at 819 North St in Jennings, LA.
