Sister Bella Jean Lewis, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ transitioned from earthly labor to heavenly reward at the age of 77 years on Monday, December 9, 2024. Sister Bella Lewis was born on October 6, 1947, to the late Earnest and Genevieve Lewis in Lafayette, LA. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Immanuel Worship Center in Jennings, LA before her health began to decline. Sister Bella was a loving person and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a joy and a blessing to all who knew her. She will be missed, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who encountered her presence.
Sister Bella leaves to cherish her precious memories, stepmother, Dorothy Lewis; 3 children, Ethenia (Ronnie) Bonham, Murphy Lewis, and Alvin Lewis; 5 brothers, Earnest (Gayle) Lewis, Antoine Lewis, James Achane, Adam (Rosie) Lewis, and Richard McDowell; 3 sisters, Princess McDowell, Stephanie Coleman, and Phoebe Cormier; 8 grandchildren, Christian, Caleb, Paige, Kendrick, Keylan, Angel, Beyonce and LaBella; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Annette Lewis; 3 special friends, Bert Perkins, Vicki Nixon and Odeal Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Sister Bella was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Lewis; her mother, Genevieve Lewis; her sisters, Genevieve Jones, Mary Demouchet, Patricia Soloman and Rose Williams; her brothers, Johnny Lewis, Ronnie McDowell, Howard McDowell and Simon Lewis; a grandson, Chuckie Lewis; a great-grandson, Legend Dubois.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Immanuel Worship Center, 8024 Highway 26 in Jennings, LA. Pastor Reverend Adam Stevens will officiate. Visiting with family and friends will be held in the church from 9:00am until the time of Celebration Services. Burial will follow in Peterson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
