Bessie Mae Brown, 76, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2022.

Mrs. Brown was born on April 17, 1946 to Ella Mae Francis and Eddie Neal Sr. in Jennings, LA. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and was an active member. She was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School & worked for over 20 years at Jeff Davis Nursing Home. She was a hard worker and very dedicated to her family as a caregiver. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Kevin Brown (Sadiqa) of Ft. Washington, MD, Reginald Brown of Crowley, LA; two daughters, Gloria Brown and Angela Brown of Jennings, LA; her brother, John Neal of Jennings, LA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brown; son, Anthony Brown; granddaughter, Laconia Brown; three brothers Alfred Neal, Henry Francis and Eddie Neal Jr.; mom, Ella Mae Francis and step-father Preston Lawdins.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, January 7, 2023, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1502 S. Main St.  Reverend Pernell R. Trent Sr. will officiate.  Visiting will be in the church from 9 am to 11 am.  Burial will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.
