Mrs. Beulah Ruth Morris , 78, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 11,2017 at her residence.  She was  native of Lake Charles, LA, and a retired Direct Care Attendant. She was born on August 22, 1938 to Christella Frelot Thibodeaux and Joseph Thibodeaux, Sr.  She was a graduate of the historic W. O. Boston High School and later married the late Daniel Morris.  Beulah was a member of New Emanuel Baptist Church under Pastor Roland Mouton Jr. She was active in the church choir, mission, and Sunday School.

Beulah is survived by her son, Mark Williams; five brothers, Reverend Melvin Holloway, Ronald Frelow, Edwin Frelow, Kenneth Frelow, and Joseph Thibodeaux Jr.; two sisters, Joyce M. Doucette and Debora Ray; grandchildren, Rakisha Darmond, Rodretta Wiliams, Jacquenetta Williams, Latonya Williams, Rodney Williams, Monica Jones, Quincy Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sr. and Christella Thibodeaux; husband, Daniel Morris; son, Rodney Williams; granddaughter, Nina Williams; great grandchildren, D'Mon, Darion, and Makhai Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at New Emanuel Baptist Church, located at 502 N. Lyons Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601, with Reverend Roland Mouton Jr. officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 8:00 am until the time of funeral. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery located in Westlake, LA. under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
