Brenda Faye George-Broussard, 60, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at a Lafayette hospital.  Brenda was a resident of Crowley, LA.  She was born on October 16, 1958 in Lafayette, LA to the late Beulah Simon-George and Clarence George, Sr.  Brenda was a faithful member of St Theresa Catholic Church in Crowley, pastored by Father Godwin Imoru.  Brenda was a graduate of Crowley High School (Class of 1978) and Grambling State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.  She was employed by the Acadia Parish School Board as a staff member of the Rayne High School Dietary Department.   Brenda was also a devoted caregiver for over 16 years with L&D Community Care Inc.

Brenda was a faithful parishioner, member of the Salt of the Earth Choir, member of the STC Committee, and volunteered for the church bazaars. Theresa Catholic Church Choir and volunteered with the church fair.

Brenda leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sons, Jamal Dominic (Jessica) Broussard of Broussard, LA and Demetrich (Candice) Charles of Crowley, LA; one sister, Dianne Johnson of Carencro, LA; brothers, Clarence (Gwen) George, Sr., Michael (Patricia) George, Sr., Donald (Lorna) George, and Frederick (Jackie) George, Sr; grandchildren, Jayden Charles, Aveah, Amyah, Arianah, Isaiah Broussard, and baby Broussard coming soon; a host of nieces & Nephews; other relatives and friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah & Clarence George, Sr; paternal grandparents, Sevilla & Columbus George; maternal grandparents, Lizzie & Maurice Simon; one brother, Anthony George; nephew, Michael George, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at  10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 417 West 3rd Street, Crowley, LA.  Reverend Emanuel Awe will officiate.  Visitation will be in the church from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.  Interment will be in South Crowley Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
