Apr 23, 1951 — Mar 5, 2025
Jennings
"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." Psalm 91:11
Carver Edward Green, Sr., 73 , a native and life-long resident of Jennings, Louisiana was called to his eternal home. Carver was the youngest of four siblings born to the late Coston M. Green Sr. and Audrey Louise O'Brien Green on April 23, 1951 in Jennings, LA. He was baptized at a young age and grew up in the Union Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend Gerald W. Perkins, Sr., whom he loved dearly. Carver could be found in Sunday School and Church Service on Sundays until he became too ill to attend.
Carver retired from the City of Jennings Maintenance Department after forty-three years of service. Carver was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School. He loved to talk about basketball and he enjoyed hunting with his brother Coston and his friends. Carver kept good hunting dogs for many years.
Anyone who lived n G. C. Chaney Street knew Carver loved his music; he played it on the front porch of the house where he lived for many years. Carver sang many years with the Voiced of Brotherhood. He also loved to ride his bicycle and could be seen all over town when he was in good health. Carver seemed quiet until you would get him talking about things going on at the nursing home and joking with his friend and roommate Nelson. He will truly be missed.
Carver leaves to cherish his memory, two sister-in-law, Etta Green of Jennings, LA. and Mary Green of San Jose California; one kind and helpful neighbor, Glenda Perkins; his godmother, Royce Levy; a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
Carver was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister, three brothers, one son, one nephew, and one niece.
Visiting with family and friends will be held from 9 am - 11 am in Union Baptist Church in Jennings, LA. Celebration of Life Services will be held in the church at 11 am with Pastor Reverend Gerald W. Perkins Sr. officiating.
