Mrs. Catherine B. Lemelle, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in a Houston, Texas hospital.  Catherine was a native of Soileau, Louisiana and a resident Fenton, Louisiana.  She was born on January 27, 1924 to the late Rosa Cesaire and Kossouth Bushnell.  Catherine was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Fenton, LA., pastored by Father Rojo A. Palatty Koonathan, HGN.  Before her illness, Catherine was self employed with her husband, Wilson.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories, five daughters, Annie (Audley) Janice of Fenton, LA., Irene Brown of Houston, TX., Shirley (Calvert) Lemonia of Fenton, LA., Veronica (Mark) Lafanette of Lake Charles, LA., and Rebecca (Robert) Thierry of Iowa, LA; two sons, Andrew Lemelle and Wilfred (Clara) Lemelle both of Fenton, LA; twenty-four grandchildren; sixty great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Elroy Lemelle; sister-in-laws Edmonia Bushnell of China, TX., May Ella Bushnell of Beaumont, TX; a host of relatives and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Lemelle; her parents, Rosa & Kossouth Bushnell; one great-grandson, DaJhaun Lemelle; nine brothers, Mattison, Linton, Elton, Sidney, Antoine, Benedict, Gabriel, Izdore, and Floyd; two sisters, Beulah and Agnes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 804 3rd Ave, Fenton, LA 70640.  Father Samuel Orsot will officiate.  A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am.  Visiting will be in the Church Hall from 8:00 am until the time of the funeral.  Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Soileau, LA under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennnings, LA.
