Sister Celestine Brown Rubin, 84 Mrs. Rubin died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. Sister Rubin was one of eight children born to the late Joe & Mary Clark Brown on March 5, 1926 in Jennings, LA. She accepted Christ & was baptized at an early age. Sister Rubin has been a faithful member of the Mount Triumph Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess until the time of her homegoing. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. John Robert Rubin on January 25th, 1947 and to this union three children wer born. She leaves to morn her devoted husband John Robert Rubin, one daughter Rose Mary (Lester) Janice of Lake Charles, LA, one son Bobby G. Rubin Sr of Lake Charles, LA; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Sister Rubin was preceded in death by her parents; one son, John A. Rubin; six sister's, Ezola Rosette, Josephine Brown, Lodee Brown, Mary Ellen Harvey, Rosa Washington & Dora Mae Brown; one brother, Anthony Brown Sr. Homegoing Celebration services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Mount Triumph Baptist Church with Pastor Carl M. Fontenot Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 am - 10:00 am at the church. Burial will be in the Benevolent Cemetery in Jennings, LA under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
