Dr. Charles Christopher Achane, PhD, Chief Warrant Officer 4, US Army Retired, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans' Home in Jennings, LA.  Dr. Achane, affectionately known as "Charlie" was long-time advocate for veterans in Southwest Louisiana.  Dr. Achane was born on September 5, 1951, in Thornwell, Louisiana to the late Odeal Wilson Achane and Clarence King Achane.  He served in the United States Army for 40-years and 9-months, receiving numerous awards and commendations.

Dr. Achane was a faithful member of Mallieu Methodist Church in Jennings, LA pastored by Rev. Kimberly Richard.  He was a dedicated long-time member of the American Legion Post 520 and a life-time member of VFW Post 3244.

Dr. Achane is survived by his daughter, Ayesha Smith; his brothers, Clarence Achane, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA, Glenn Achane and Desser Ray Achane, both of Jennings, LA; his sisters, Louise Jackson of Welsh, LA and Alice Achane of Jennings, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dr. Achane was preceded in death by his parents Odeal Wilson Achane and Clarence King Achane.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:00 am at Semien-Lewis Mortuary Church Chapel, 819 N. State Street in Jennings, LA.  Visiting will be held from 8am until the time of Celebration Servies.  Burial will follow in the Southwest Veterans Cemetery will Military Funeral Honors Accorded by the U. S. Army.
