Charles Tyler Fletcher, born on December 17, 1992, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 33. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Allegra M. Richard and Charles M. Fletcher, his brother, Chandler James, and his extended family and friends.
Charles was known for his warm spirit and his love for people. He had a profound ability to connect with others, which made him a cherished friend and a dedicated healthcare attendant. Charles was particularly proud to have received his Graduate Equivalence Diploma, a significant achievement that demonstrated his commitment to personal growth and education.
His passions included gaming, fast cars, technology, and music. Charles found immense joy in the laughter and love of his family, moments he regarded as among his life's greatest blessings. Having Sickle Cell Anemia, he advocated for Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness and support for those affected by the disease.
Charles was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leonard C. Richard; maternal grandmother, Barbara Arnolie Richard; his paternal grandmother, Sherolyn Denise Larkin; paternal grandfathers, Charles M. Fletcher & Robert L. Larkin; his aunt, Karen Fletcher; and his great-aunt, Orelia Marie Augustus.
Charles is survived by his parents, Allegra M. Richard of Baton Rouge, LA and Charles M. Fletcher of Detroit, MI; his brother, Chandler James of Baton Rouge, LA; three aunts, Tona Julian (Lester) of Detroit, MI, Melissa Larkin of Douglasville, GA, and Stephanie Vaz of Huntsville, AL; one godchild, Ava Marie Anderson of Port Allen, LA; a host of other relatives and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to inspire those who carry his spirit in their hearts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1120 Myrtle Street in Baton Rouge, LA. Reverend Richard Potts, CSsR, will officiate. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Visiting will be in the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow in Resting Place Memorial Garden, 14040 Locust St, Baton Rouge, LA, under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
