Charles Sonnier, 66, a life-long resident of Jennings, LA., passed away peacefully  in Lafayette, LA. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.  Charles was born on September 5, 1952 in Jennings, LA., to Eldon Sonnier, Sr. and Mary Rosette.  He was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories two children, Tyrone Darnell Sonnier of Arlington, TX. and Erica (Isaac) Washington of Euless, TX; brother, Eldon Sonnier, Jr. of Jennings, LA; sisters, Mary (James) Zeno, Lula (Freddie) Noel both of Port Arthur, TX., Flora Keys of Alexandria, LA., Clara Guillory of Jennings, LA., Lovy Broussard of Lawtell, LA., Angela (Patrick) Lutz of Newton, NC., Gertrude Sonnier of Galveston, TX. and Rena Rosette of Port Arthur, TX.; one grandchild, Reign Xzavier Ferguson of Euless, TX.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Rosette Sonnier; father, Eldon Sonnier, Sr; brother, Melvin Sonnier, Sr; sisters, Wilma White and Lou Ethel Bowman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the David J. & Rosa W. Fondel Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street in Jennings, LA. with Reverend Jessie Jackson officiating.  Visitation will be in the chapel from 9:00 am until the time of Funeral.  Interment will be at a later date under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
