Reverend Charlie Lewis Sr., 73 Reverend Charlie Lewis (B.K.A.) "Shorty" of Lake Charles, LA passed away on August 21, 2011 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1937 to Butler and Hattie Lewis in Moss Bluff, LA. He was a truck driver for over 40 years and his last employer was Alvin Joseph Trucking Company. Reverend Lewis was a Minister at Greater St. Mary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA., under the leadership of Pastor Samuel C. Tolbert Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Sis. Ella Mae Lewis for over 50 years; 4 daughters, Margo Simien of Sulphur, LA., Dianna (Anthony) Augusta, Veronica (Robert) Lewis, and Sabrina Lewis, all of Lake Charles, LA., 3 sons, Charlie (Rose) Lewis Jr., Minister Derrick (Kimberly) Lewis and Andrey Crawford, all of Lake Charles, LA., one Godchild, Victoria Smith of Lake Charles, LA., 18 Grand-children, 12 Great-grandchildren, and a host of neices, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Butler and Hattie Lewis, 1 sister, Lucy Lewis, 1 brother, Butler Lewis Jr., 1 nephew, Kerry Lewis, and 1 great-grandchild, Tre Augusta Jr. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Greater St. Mary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA., with Pastor Samuel C. Tolbert Jr. officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00am until the time of the Funeral. Burial will be in the Combre Memorial Park.
