Curley Simon Sr., 94, died Thursday, October 24, 2013, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was born in Freetown, LA., and was a resident of Jennings, LA. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend Pernell R. Trent Sr. Mr. Simon served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He is a retired a Bus Driver with the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board and served as a Mason with Prince Hall Mason #157. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Paul Baptist Church with Reverend Pernell R. Trent Sr., officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 am until the time of Funeral. Masonic Funeral Rituals will be performed by Prince Hall Mason #157 at 11:00 am in the church. Interment will be in the Benevolent Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Fort Polk Army Base. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Hinks of Jennings and Barbara Ann Coleman of San Francisco, CA.; one brother, Earl Simon of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Selena Sachet of California; ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He preceded in death by his wife, Celia Gillard Simon; two sons, Curley Simon Jr., and Danny G. Simon; both parents, Alfred & Selena Simon; four brothers, Albert Simon Jr., Cornelius Simon, Collins Simon, and Merle Pierre; four sisters, Margaret Johnson, Rosa Lee Simon, and Maude Simon.
