Dorothy Marie Harvey, 94, transitioned from earthly labor to heavenly reward with her family by her side on Saturday, January 6, 2024.  Sister Harvey was born on January 18, 1929, in Ruston, Louisiana to John Earl Manuel and Mamie Williams Manuel.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church in Jennings, LA., pastored by Reverend Gerald W. Perkins, Sr.  Sister Harvey was a member of the Church Choir and the food ministry.  She was employed with the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board as a Cook and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.  Sister Harvey enjoyed reading bible scriptures and devotional reading.  She also enjoyed babysitting local children and reading to them.

Sister Harvey was preceded in death by her sons, Ronald Earl Henry and Ryan Arnell Harvey; her parents, John Earl Manuel and Mamie Williams Manuel; four brothers, Edgar Manuel "Uncle Red", Curtis Manuel "Uncle Jack", Earl John Manuel "Uncle Earl", and Robert Manuel "Uncle Cubie"; two sisters, Lillie Mae Manuel Duhon and Lela Mae Manuel "Aunt Pig".

Sister Harvey leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, William C. Henry, Jr. of Jennings, LA., Kenneth Roy Harvey of Chicago, IL., and Kyle Scotty Manuel of Austin, TX; one daughter, Carolyn Harvey (Luddie) Williams of San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren, Denise M. Henry of Nykoping, Sweden, Sabrina V. Henry of Falun, Sweden, Lauren G. Manuel and Kyle S. Manuel both of Austin, TX; a special niece, Rosalind Benoit of Humble, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
