Elliot James Simon, 60, was called from his earthly labor to his heavenly reward on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at his residence in Columbus, OH. Elliot was born on October 28, 1959, to the late Willie Fred Simon and Maudry M. Simon in Jennings, LA. He was a 1978 graduate of Jennings High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September of 1978. Elliot received an honorable discharge from the Corps in September of 1981. Elliot was a cross-country truck driver and later relocated to Los Angeles, CA. in 1989. In 2012, he relocated to Columbus, OH, and was employed with the Center of Science and Industry.
Elliot is survived by his children, Quincy Amos Rochon (Raquel) of New Iberia, LA., Brock Elliot Fontenot of Jennings, LA., and Lance Joseph Simon of Jennings, LA; 8 grandchildren, Tristen and Austen Rochon, Brylun, Amare', Azailee, and Brylie Fontenot, Sylus and Lynkon Simon; 2 sisters, Fredetta Marie Wade of Los Angeles, CA and Hilda Michelle Abraham (Patrick Sr.) of Jennings, LA; 2 brothers, Carl Joseph Simon of Long Beach, CA. and Kevin Michael Simon of Los Angeles, CA; 1 aunt, Jacqueline Peterson (Theron) of Ellisville, MO; 3 nieces, Ashley Simon, Erin Simon, and Zoie Abraham (Godchild); nephews, Patrick "Petey" Abraham Jr., and
Alex Blanchard; great-niece, Alexis Blanchard; great-nephew, Acen Blanchard; special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Kenny Carter of Columbus, OH; a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie & Maudry Simon; 1 sister-in-law, Jill Simon; Godparents, Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Briscoe.
A drive through/walk through public viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020, at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street, Jennings, LA. 70546. A private graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery with Father Jude Fernando officiating. Military Funeral Honors being accorded by the United States Marine Corps. Burial will be under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
