Emilda Jones, 80 Emilda Jones was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 while at her residence while with her loving family. She was born in Lafayette, LA on June 26, 1931 to her loving parents, Charlie and Laura Jones. She was raised in Lafayette, and later moved to Lake Charles, LA and eventually moved back to Lafayette. She worked most of her life as a cook. Emilda Jones leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters; Mary Augustine Lilly, Dorothy Jade Faulk, Charlene Broussard, and Shamanda (Leroy) Celestine, all of Lafayette, one sister; Dorothy Jane (Harold) DeCuire of Lafayette, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents, two children; Kenneth Ventroy and Dianna Ventroy, and one brother; Joseph Jones. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Temple of Praise Church in Lafayette, LA. with Apostle B. Cherry Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2011. Burial will be in the Gethsemanie Cemetery.
