Sister Erma Lee Thomas, 86, of Lake Arthur, LA.,  transitioned from earthly labor to heavenly reward  on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Ochsner American Legion Hospital in Jennings, LA.  Sister Erma was born on December 5, 1937, in Lake Arthur, LA to the late Joyce Lee and Rodney Collins.  Sister Erma was baptized at an early age and currently was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Arthur, LA pastored by Reverend Jered Thomas.  Sister Erma enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She worked as a Caregiver in the Home Health Industry.

Sister Erma leaves to cherish her memories, three children, Jackie Carter, Rodney (Sheba) Thomas, and Pamela Thomas; her grandchildren, Shawn Carter, Randall Carter, LaDorian Carter, Amanda Thomas, Treyland Thomas Sr., and Jaden Conner, Marcus Jacobs; her great-grandchildren, Robert Carter IV, Robbie (Shay) Carter, Robbon Turner, Tonese Jackson, Ray Levi, Jasmine Leger, Reese Carter, LaDaryani, LaDarren, LaDiria Yokum, Treyland Thomas, Jr., and Kholie Thomasr; three great great-grandchildren, Zaylee Payne, Corbynn Guillory, and Brady Carter; her godchild, Sharon Carter; one sister, Georgette Ray;  two brothers, Terry Achane and Darrell (Wanda) Achane; her sister-in-law, Annie Collins; three brother-in-laws, James (Janice) Thomas, John Thomas, and Ezekiel (Arnet) Thomas; her bonus children, John McZeal, Monique Hawkins, Stella Conner, and Yolanda Ramsey; her special friend, Charlotte Constantie; her cousins, Howard Lee and Thomas Pete, Sr; a host of other relatives and friends.

Sister Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Thomas, Jr; her parents Joicia Collins and Rodney Collins; one daughter, Brenda Thomas; her brothers, Nathaniel Collins and Clifford Louis Collins, Sr; two sisters, Eleanor Baker and Claudia Davis; two grandchildren, Robbie Carter and Cherise Robinson.

Celebration of Life Services honoring Sister Erma will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 12, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Lake Arthur, LA.  Visiting with family and friends will be held in the church from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
