Ernest Monroe, 66, was a resident of Clarksville, TN and a native of Jennings, LA.  Ernest entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at a local hospital in Clarksville, TN.  He was born on November 11, 1952 in Lafayette, LA to Loren Applon and Joseph Monroe.  Mr. Monroe was a resident of Clarksville, TN and a former resident of Jennings, LA.  He was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN pastored by Reverend D. Brown.

Ernest leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Leo Monroe, Sr of Beaumont, TX; one sister, Mary Bell (Rev. Harvey, Sr.) Jackson of Clarksville, TN; brother-in-law, Ervin Malveaux Sr. of Jennings, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Loren Aplon Monroe & Joseph Iriv Monroe; sisters, Celeste Simien, Celestine Tyler, Willie Mae Tyler, Effie Savoy and Lorena Malveaux; brothers, James Monroe, Leonce Monroe and Ivory Monroe.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 13, 2019 in the David J. & Rosa W. Fondel Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street in Jennings, LA.  Visitation will be in the Chapel from 12:00 pm until the time of Celebration Services.  Burial will be in the Eastridge Cemetery in Welsh, LA under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
