Fannie Hill Barnes, 86

Native of New Iberia, LA and long-time resident of Jennings, LA passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in a local hospital. Fannie was born on January 31, 1931, in New Iberia, LA.  Fannie earned a Bachelor's Degree from Grambling State University and a Master's Degree from Texas Southern University.  She was a retired schoolteacher from the Jefferson Davis School System.  She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend Pernell R. Trent.

Fannie leaves to cherish her memories, one niece, Ms. Stacy Moore of Houston, TX.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Moma Rose Broussard and one daughter, Avie Rose Barnes


Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in the Rosa W. & David J. Fondel, Sr. Church Chapel with Reverend Irvin Mouton officiating.  Visitation will be in the Chapel from 9:00 am until the time of Funeral.  Burial will be in Benevolent Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
