Mr. Floyd Smith, 78, a resident of Lake Charles, LA entered into eternal rest in a local hospital on August 26, 2018. Floyd was born in Pascagoula, Ms. on July 15, 1940, and lived in Lake Charles, LA. Floyd was self-employed as a Painter. Floyd also served his country in the United States Army.


He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Christopher Floyd Thomas "Coon" of Lake Charles, LA., four sisters, Patricia Jones, Mary Bates, Wanda Bartie, and Cheryl Willis all of Lake Charles, LA.; one brother, Henry Lutcher; three stepsisters, Emma Hopkins of Las Vegas, Ann Batiste of Biloxi, MS., and Beatrice Green of Gulf Port, MS.; Special Friend, Darsella Ronnie Thomas of Lake Charles, LA.; grandchildren, Tammie Bean, Macie Bean, Aysha Thomas, Crystal Smith, Ashland Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Smith and Lula Mae Long,; six brothers, George, Rudolph, Henry "Buster", Nathaniel, Willie, and Frank Smith, and one sister, Maxine "Candy" "Nanny: Smith and Castina Faye Bean.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 8,2018 at 11:00 am, at 1st New Life Baptist Church, 311 S.1st  Ave, Lake Charles, LA 70601 with Reverend Derrick Lewis  officiating. The memorial service is under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
