Mr. Fonton G. Edwards, 64, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at The Carpenter House of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA.  Mr. Edwards was a resident of Jennings, LA.  He was born on November 1, 1954 in Lafayette, LA to Wildon Edwards and Martha Vickers-Edwards.  Fonton worked as a Lapping Technician in the Oil Field Equipment Industry.

Fonton is survived by one sister, Wanda (Terry James, Sr.) Edwards-Simon of Jennings, LA; three brothers, Michael Edwards. Douglas Edwards and James Edwards Jr., all of Jennings, LA;  special friend, Lois Knight of Baton Rouge, LA; nieces, Jonitta Edwards-Adolph, Chero Simon, Joni Capdeville and Britnay Edwards; nephews, Terry Simon, Jr., Barthol Caesar, Joe Edwards, Jr., Herbert Edwards, Jr., James Edwards, Jr. and Joseph Edwards.

Fonton was preceded in death by his parents, Wildon Ewards and Martha Vickers-Edwards; two sisters, Dorothy Paddio, and Rose Capdeville; three brothers, Joe Edwards, Sr., Herbert Edwards, Sr. and Carl Edwards.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 9, 2019 in the Rosa W. & David J. Fondel Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street, Jennings, LA.  The Eulogy will be given by Fonton's nephew, Terry Simon, Jr.  Visitation will be in the chapel from 9:00 am until time of the Celebration Services.
