Freddie J. Lennett, 79, entered into eternal rest at his residence on Monday, February 4, 2019 while surrounded by his family. Freddie was born on December 8, 1939 to the late William "Bill" & Lelia Mae Lennett in Jennings, LA. Freddie moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1963 and worked for General Motors Corporation for ten years. He met and married Louise Wittaker. In the 1980's, he moved back to Jennings to help his mother with an ailing brother.
One of Freddie's favorite pastimes was entertaining his family, relatives and friends during family barbeques. His house was always open to anyone who needed a place to live.
Cherishing his memory is his sister, Mildred Washington of Inglewood, CA; his nieces, Natalie Washington of Rosamond, CA. and Bristol Chambers of Jennings, LA; his nephews, Willie Jones of Athens, AL., Thomas E. Bailey, Jr. and Louis Chambers, III of Lake Charles, LA; many other relatives, especially Katherine Willa of Lafayette, LA.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Lela & William "Bill" Lennett; one sister, Mary Lee Lennette-Jones; two brothers, Therlin and Harold Lennette; a niece, Sherlyn Chambers; a nephew, Gregory K. Washington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Our Lady Perpetual Help Catholic Church,
920 S Broadway St, Jennings, LA.
Father Jude Fernando will officiate. Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 am until the time of Mass. Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery.
