Mr. Gable Benoit, age 80, departed this life on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge, LA. Mr. Benoit was a native and life-long resident Lake Arthur, LA. He was born on October 13, 1934 to Ladise and Agnes Daniels Benoit. He was baptized at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in Lake Arthur. He worked for the town of Lake Arthur and in 1977, he was employed with PPG Industries as a Mercury Cell Operator where he retired after 19 1/2 years of service. Gable was married to Elaine Chaney Benoit who preceded him in death, to this union, four children were born. He leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Troy Chaney of Baton Rouge, LA., Terrance (Oletta) Benoit of San Diego, CA., and Sherard (Joni) Benoit of Jennings, LA; one daughter, Sherille (Percy) Sharkey of Baton Rouge, LA; seven grandchildren, Keku, Parish, Ashli, Daron, Terrace, Mia, and Brielle; a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Cheney Benoit, his parents, Ladise and Agnes Benoit, and one grandchild, Joshua Weathersby. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.
