Geary Torrell Jones Jr. was born in Lake Charles, LA on May 2, 2007, to his father (Geary Sr.) and mother (Danquishia).  He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the early age of 8-months old.  Doctors said, "He would not pass the age of 7-years old."  However, God blessed us with an additional 7-years to enjoy with him.  Geary was a very vibrant little boy; he had the desire to achieve in life because when his medical condition said "No" he said "Yes."  He bypassed all the odds against him with God and all the loving help of family, friends, and medical staff.  We were told that he would just be there and unable to live a meaningful life.  Even though he was confined to a wheelchair, he did live life and life more abundantly.  He was released off the feeding tube at the age of three. We started off giving him a taste of food, while he was on the feeding tube, and it got to where he wanted to eat so bad that he kept pulling the tube and knocking the feeder out of our hands determinedly. Then, we realize he really wanted to eat, at first the doctors would not have it, but he started pulling the peg out of his stomach which led us to take him back and forth to the hospital to replace it.  Even though it was so painful, he continued doing this, at that point his doctor gave us permission to slowly begin to feed him puree foods.  He learned to chew from eating ice chips, which then allowed him to begin eating and drinking and he was so happy.  He loved the attention from all.  We never left him behind, he did everything and went everywhere we did; church service, prayer meeting, candy making, bbq, vacation, and family entertainment.  He started school at 5-years old and was baptized in Jesus' name at Jennings Greater First Apostolic Church at the age of 12-years old.

The year 2021 became a challenging year for Geary.  He began to have more seizures and hospitalizations than ever before.  His activeness began to slow down with more on-set sleeping.  Slowly but surely, he was leaving us.  His body and heart began to weaken as he was enduring the fight. When he could go no longer, he passed peacefully after church service on January 5th at Our Lady of Lourdes Women & Children Hospital.

He is survived by his father (Geary Jones Sr.), mother (Danquishia Jones/Arline); two sisters, Jazmine and Lyric; his grandparents, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
