Gwendolyn Dale Vickers, 67, a native and resident of Welsh, Louisiana entered into eternal rest in the comfort of her residence on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.  Gwendolyn was born on August 22, 1955, to the late Della Lee Vickers-Eaglin and Vincent Jackson.  She was educated in the Jefferson Davis Parish School System and upon graduating high school she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Golden Age Nursing Home. She later was employed with the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board as a Cook until her retirement.  She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a devoted member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Welsh, LA., pastored by Reverend Nathan Stevens.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, LaRon D. Vickers and Quentin D. Vickers; one granddaughter, Alyssa Monet Vickers; two grandsons, Zaron R. Huntsberry and Zaire R. Vickers; five sisters, Gloria Thibodeaux (Danny) of Welsh, LA., Samantha C. Drake of Welsh, LA., Kimberlin Eaglin of Lake Charles, LA., Bridgette Carrier of Houston, TX., and Daphne Carrier Landry of Houston, TX; five brothers, Darrell W. Drake Sr. of Lake Charles, LA., Jerald Drake Jr. of Houston, TX., Wesley B. J. Drake of Welsh, LA., Heath A. Drake (Romona) of Sulphur, LA., and Darrell J. Handy (Emma) of McKinley, TX; a special cousin, Sandra Vickers Prudhomme (Russell II) of Welsh, LA.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 710 W Welsh St, Welsh, LA.  Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am in the church with Pastor Rev. Nathan Stevens officiating.
