Mr. Harold Duplechan, 58 Mr Duplechan was born on January 14, 1953 to Dorothy Davis and Fletcher Duplechan Sr. Mr. Duplechan was a former employee of Leevac Shipyards, Inc., as a fitter/welder/electrician befor retiring in 2001. He was also known as a carpenter by trade in the community of Silverwood and the surrounding area Harold was a faithful servant of God serving as Deacon, first at Little Sunlight Baptist Church, then as Deacon at Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist Church. He was instrumental in training the Deacon trainees as well a being a member of the Men's Choir and Mass Choir. He was a true soldier in the Army of the Lord and he enjoyed praising and serving the Lord. Harold went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2011. He leaved to celebrate his homegoing, his wife of 15 years, Anna (Cretchen) Duplechan; 2 daughters, Donna (Jay) Duplechan; Monica (Tracy) Slowe both of Houston, TX., 4 sons, Christopher and Derrick Price of Pittsburgh, PA., Sr Airman Robin Jones of McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey; Dana (Christian) Jones of Shreveport, LA., 2 granddaughters, Makaila Sanders and Kamri Curry; and 4 grandsons, Markus Grant, Gerard Slowe, David Whitt and Sean A. Jones. He also leaves 7 siblings, 5 brothers; Kenneth (Lillie) Duplechan, Houston, TX., Jerome (Mary) Duplechan, Lake Arthur, LA., August Duplechan, Houston, TX., Ronnie Duplechan, Jennings, LA., Greg (Mary Louise) Duplechan, Jennings, LA.; 2 sisters, Margaret Duplechan, Houston, TX., Bridget (Gregg) Guidry, Jennings, LA.; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Fletcher Duplechan Sr., 2 brothers Fletcher Duplechan Jr., and Darrell Duplechan and 1 sister Mary Mitchell. Funeral services for Mr. Duplechan will be at 3pm Sunday, March 20th, 2011 at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings, LA with Pastor Carl Fontenot Sr. officiating. Visitation will be at Semien-Lewis Mortuary from 11:00 am until 2:45 pm. The members of the Duplechan family wish to express their gratefulness for all the prayers and help extended to the family during this time. We thank God for you all.
