Mr. Harold Murphy Jones, 82 Mr. Harold M. Jones was a native and resident of Jennings, LA. He was born on December 3, 1931 to the late Lorena Davis and Clinton Jones. Harold was educated in the Jefferson Davis Parish School system and was a member of Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, pastored by Rev. Carl M. Fontenot Sr. He served in the United States Army and received numerous metals (Good Conduct 5th Award, AOM-Germany, National Defense Service Metal, Motor Vehicle Driver Badge W/Bar, Purple Heart, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medial W/60 Device, Army Commendation Medal, Two Overseas Bars, Bronze Star Medal) and retired after 28-years of service with an Honorable Discharge. Harold later was employed with the PPG Plant near Lake Charles where he worked as a Plant Operator until he retired. Cherishing Harold's memories are his wife, Nola Ann Jones of Jennings, LA; ten children, Harold M. Jones Jr. of Texas, Lois Jones of Lake Charles, Tonga Cahee (Joe) Jones of Welsh, John Fitzgerald Jones of Lake Charles, Flynnoid Jones of Lake Charles, Jason (Shawn) Ason of Jennings, Bryan (Terry) Ason of Mermentau, Wilton (Tracy) Ason of Jennings, Haroldnetta Jones of Lake Charles, and Charles Jones of Jennings; sisters, Paula Jones of Lake Charles and Audrey Capdeville of Jennings; 16-grandchildren; 5-great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Lorena Davis Jones and Clinton Jones; brothers, Willerd Jones, Clint Jones, and Albert C. Jones. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Reverend Carl M. Fontenot Sr. officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 am until time of Funeral. Pallbearers will be provided by U.S. Army Soldiers from Fort Polk Army Base. An Honor Guard will be provided by soldiers from Fort Polk Army Base and the Patriot Guard Riders from 9:00 am until committal. Military Honors will be accorded at 10:30 am by the American Legion Post #19 in the church. Burial will be in the Peterson Memorial Cemetery with full Military Rites and a 21-gun salute accorded by a Unites States Army Squad from Fort Polk Army Base. Burial will be under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
