Harold James Lockett was born on January 17th, 1930 to the late Curly and Yolande Lockett.  He departed this life on November 12, 2021, in Welsh, Louisiana.  Harold was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church.  Harold served in the United States Army on active duty for 2 years.  He worked the pipeline in Pasadena, Texas.  Harold was also a Tanker Driver for Holston until he retired.  He enjoyed life, he would strike up a conversation with anyone.  If you met him once, he left a lasting impression, and you probably left laughing, chuckling, or smiling.  He loved his kids, neighbors, his grandkids, and all the neighborhood kids.  His favorite pastime was watching football, hanging out with the fellows, (young, and old), and family gatherings.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his sister, Carolyn Westbrook of Los Angeles, CA., his kids Harold J Lockett Jr. (Vandell) of Lake Charles, LA., Kenneth Lyons, of Iowa, LA., Curtis Ray Lyons, of Houston, TX. Nathaniel Lyons of Welsh, LA., Cynthia Beverley (Mike) of Jennings, LA., Deborah Williams of Atlanta, GA., Tonette Berry of Welsh, LA., Kerry Lyons, of Welsh, LA., Lionel Lyons of Lake Charles, LA., Harold L. Lyons of Fenton, LA., Yolanda Lemonia (Bradley) of Welsh, LA., Ronnie Lyons, of Welsh, LA., Steven Lyons, of Welsh, LA., Dion Poke of Lake Charles, LA., Shane Jackson (Deon) of Houston, TX., Drusilla Simon, Troy Pattum, and David Kelly, are his Godchildren.  A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Yolanda and Curley Lockett; his 1st wife, Bertha Vital Lockett; his 2nd wife, Betty Jackson Lockett; his sisters, Maudry Gordon, Audrey Kaough, Leona Kempson, and Dorothy Lafleur; one son, Chad Jackson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, 209 N Adams St, Welsh, LA 70591.  Father Pradip Galip will officiate.  Visiting with family and friends will be held from 7:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street, Jennings, LA 70546.  A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 A.M. in the Chapel.  Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army at the church immediately following the Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 2, 2021, under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
