Mr. Harry Burton Levy, age 82, departed this life on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Jennings American Legion Hospital of Jennings, LA. Mr. Levy was a native of Opelousas, LA., but lived in Jennings, La. most of his life. He was born on July 18, 1932 to Clarence and Viola Levy Sr.. He retired as the Director of Child Welfare and Attendance and Transportation for Jeff Davis Parish after 40 years of service. He was a Police Juror for 10 years, and was President of the Southern University Alumni Chapter for Jennings, LA. Mr. Levy also served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Levy leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Royce Segura Levy, two daughters, Monica Levy Smyre of Jennings, La., and Rachel Greis of Welsh, La., LA., one brother, Clarence Levy Jr. of Jennings,LA., three grandchildren, Jaymon Levy, Jadon Johnson, and Ebonie Greis, one great-grandchild, Malonie Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Viola Levy Sr.. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 P.M., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Union Baptist Church with Reverend Gerald Perkins officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral. Burial will be in Peterson Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.
