Our dear, Henry Eugene Cormier Sr., transitioned to eternal rest on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

Henry was preceded in death by his father and mother, McKinley Cormier and Annie Mae Jones; his siblings, Hesper Rose Simien and Raymond Jones; his eldest son, Henry Eugene Cormier Jr., whom he loved and missed deeply every day.

Henry is survived by his wife, Chrissy Cormier; his siblings, Wayne Wilridge, Betty (Julien) Ford, Magdalene (Jerri) Soul, and Cecile (Albert) St. Julien; his children, Eva (Gary) Richardson, Annie (Bruce) Gregg, LaCongia (Jade) McKinney, Nathaniel (Shana) Cormier, Tasha Hawkins & Monique Berry; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

On June 23, 1944, Henry Eugene Cormier was born to his parents, Annie and McKinley.  Henry was born and raised in Jennings, LA.  Henry learned at a young age to value faith, hard work, and family.  With guidance from his renowned uncle Henry Jones, he learned the craft of plumbing, which he used to build a fulfilling life for his family, an amazing life filled with laughter and jokes, comfort, great food and the unconditional love only a father can give.

Known to all as "the fisherman", "the plumber", and to his family as the jokester, gardener and personal chef, anytime of day or night. He was our constant—a simple man.  His joy in life was working.  His pride in life was the family he created — his children and grandchildren.  His peace in life was fishing.  And so, as we cook or fish and live each day, we will think of him. Henry will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will live forever in our hearts.

Henry's wishes to be cremated upon his death was honored on June 19, 2023, under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
