Henry Alexander "Bugs" Smith, III, 41 On the evening of Monday, February 27, 2012, our Father called his loving angel and son, Henry Alexander "Bugs" Smith, III home. Bugs was born January 8, 1971 to the late Henry Smith, Jr. and Ruby Smith. He was a member of the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr. He was baptized by the late Dr. R. B. House Henry attended Washington-Marion Magnet High School where he was a member of the Charging Indians Football Team. Bugs was a former employee of Ponchos. He was also a lifeguard at the 2nd Street Pool and a security guard at PPG Plant. At the time of his death, he was employed by Purple Heart Gym. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Alexander "Butch" Smith, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Will and Florence Barker and; paternal grandparents, Henry & Louella Smith; five uncles, Gregory & Will Barker, Willie & George Smith and Rudolph Johnson; and two aunts, Dorothy Thomas and Mary Frances Clines. He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Shakevia Smith; mother, Ruby Smith; two brothers, Floyd (Travonna) and Gerald Smith; one sister, Cecilia LaCompe; three neices, five nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Greater St. Mary Baptist Church with Pastor Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr. officiating. Visiting will be in the church from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Dismissal will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 with burial in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
