Ida Louise 'Bay' Vital Bouxie, 84, departed this life on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Camelot Brookshire Nursing Home in Jennings.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Union Baptist Church, 1014 S. Main St. in Jennings, LA.  Pastor Gerald Perkins, Sr. will officiate.  Visitation will be held in the church from 8 a.m. until the time of the funeral.  Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.

Ida was born on Feb. 22, 1935, to Melvin and Adeline Vital of Welsh.  She worked with Jeff Davis Nursing Home as a nurse aid.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her two daughters, Berneta Gaines Bias and Juliet Pearl Pitre (Paul), all of Jennings; one brother, John F. Jackson of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren, Marcus Achane, Zachary Washington, Karmen Achane, and Keelin Washington; five great-grandchildren, Teshona, Zhyrielle, Xavier, Marli, and Aiden; and a host of stepchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Adeline Vital; her husband, Joseph P. Bouxie; two stepsons, Roy Bouxie and Joseph P. Hall; and two grandsons.
