Mrs. Ida Mae Prudhomme-Pitre, 91, passed away peacefully at Jennings American Legion Hospital, while surrounded by her loving family.  Ida was born on December 28, 1928, in Welsh, Louisiana to the late Alex Phrdhomme and Sylvania Mitchell-Prudhomme.  She was a faithful and loving wife to the late James Pitre. Ida was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Welsh.

Ida leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, two daughters, Sylvia Marie Vickers of Houston, TX and Delesse Marie Lewis of Welsh, LA; six sons, Gussie (Marjorie) Pitre of Lake Charles, LA, John Earl Pitre of Welsh, LA, Gilbert Pitre of Roanoke, LA, Rolland (Jackie) Pitre, and Robert (Linda) Pitre all of Welsh, Paul N. (Juliet)  Pitre of Jennings, LA; one brother, Clarence (Kitty) Prudhomme of Welsh, LA; one sister, Mariah Drake of Welsh, LA; twenty-seven grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, James Pitre; both parents, Alex and Sylvania Prudhomme.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 310 N. Sarah Street, Welsh, LA.  Father Pradeep Gali will officiate.  Visiting will be held in the church from 8:15 am until the time of Mass.  Burial will be in Bon Pasteur Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
