Ida Marie Savoie, 93 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 On August 20, 1917, God gave us a very special gift, Ida Marie Savoie. God chose for her to depart from us on May 28, 2011. Ida was born to the late Valarie and Pearl Chavis Eaglin from Cankton, LA. Ida was married to the late Nace Savoie on September 25, 1941. To that union eight children were born. She lived in Rayne, LA and later moved to Jennings, LA where she resided until her death. Ida was a very faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for 55 years until her illness prohibited her. She was a devoted member of the Ladies of Sodolity. She leaves to cherish her memories three sons James Ray (Constance) Savoie of Jennings, LA., Leon Paul Savoy of Houston, TX., Roy Lee Savoie of Jennings, LA., three daughters, Ella Mae Savoie of Jennings, LA., Mary Nell Savoie Johnson of Northridge, CA., Rose Dell Savoy of Jennings, LA., 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, godchildren, special godchildren (Shirley Harmon), and special friends, one sister Mary Duplechain of Texas, two brothers John Eaglin of Beaumont, TX., and Horace Eaglin of Alabama. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Nace Savoie; her parents, Valarie and Pearl Chavis Eaglin; seven siblings, Effie Savoie, Melina Ruffin, Melvin, Herbert, Ivie, Joe, and Elroy Eaglin; two children, Annie M. and Claude C. Savoie; one grandchild Shaunna Scobell.
