Mrs. Ila Mae "Mackey" Lewis, age 73, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her husband and family. Ila Mae was born in Grant, LA on December 6, 1941 to her loving parents, Ivory Vetor Mackey and Relevia V. Mackey. She was a Deaconess and devoted member of Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Fellowship Church, pastored by Reverend Clyde Lewis. She retired after 35 years of service from St. Patrick's Hospital.
Ila Mae is survived by her husband, Arthur J. Lewis Sr. of Lake Charles; five sons, Gregory A. (Tabetha) Mackey of Texas, Charles W. Lewis, Arthur J. Lewis II, Franklin D. Lewis Sr. and Kevin R. Lewis Sr.; two daughters, Tonya L. (Joseph) Patin of Taylor of Texas. and Donnie P. West; three brothers, Pastor Donald R. (Bernice) Mackey, Elbert R. (Brenda) Mackey, and Robert E. (Carlos) Mackey; one sister, Mary J. Kamara; grandchildren, Tomika, Miriam & Desiree' Mackey, Ashley, D'Nicholas & Issac Lewis, J'von Gatewood, Noah & Logan Patin, Christopher Reado, James & Jennifer Lewis, Tywanna Dushime, Christopher Doshier, Toccara Babineaux, Franklin D. Lewis II, Tristan Pete, Kayla Frank, Lakesha LeMell, and Kevin R. Lewis II.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ivory V. Mackey; one brother, Charles W. Mackey; one grandson, Caleb J. Patin.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Fellowship Church with Pastor Reverend Clyde Lewis officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of funeral. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
