Mrs. Irene Tyler-Achane, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020, at Camelot Brookside Retirement Home in Jennings, LA.  Irene was a life-long native and resident of Lake Arthur, LA.  She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings, LA., where she served as an Usher and a Mission Sister.  Irene was educated in the Jefferson Davis Parish School System and was later employed as a Homemaker in the community.  She later married Willie Achane, Jr. and to that union five children were born.

Irene leaves to cherish her memories, four children, Florence Duhon (Harold) of Lake Arthur, LA., Terry Achane of Houston, TX., Georgitte Ray (Edwin) and Darrel Achane (Wanda) both of Jennings, LA; twenty-two grandchildren, Denise, Erica (James), Lil Harold, Jacob (LaToya), Nia, Lil Terry, Monique, Tywon, Choice, Marquet (Rhonda), Edmon, Jillian, Lil Mike, Ian, Iiara, Marcus, Karmen, Darrian, Damien, Marcus, Jared (Katey), and Codie (Nate); forty-two great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; six sister-in-laws, Elvina, Mellissa, Mary, Rosa Mae, Mildred and Rena; three Godchildren, Cassandra Carr, Desirick Washington, and Jordan Turner; a special friend, Shirley Ramsey.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Achane, Jr; her daughter, Claudia Davis; both parents, Wallace and Mary Tyler; one granddaughter, Myeshia; three great-grandchildren, Marquiss, Jamaria and Majesty; her siblings, Wilfred Briggs, Jacob Tyler, Farris Tyler, Wallace Tyler, Jr., Rachel David, Earlene Pete, Corrine Tyler and Elzina Tyler.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street, Jennings, LA.  Reverend Jonathan McZeal will officiate.  Visiting will be in the Chapel from 8:00 am until the time of Celebration Services.  Burial will be in Thornwell Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.
