Jacquelyn Ann Kennedy Wilridge  was born on August 17, 1966 in Rayne, La. to the late Elton Kennedy and Inez Babineaux-Kennedy. Jacquelyn "Jackie" (as she was known by all who knew and loved her) was a resident of Crowley, La. until she transitioned to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2022, during a day of laughter, fun, joy and bonding with both of her  beloved daughters whom she cherished more than life itself.

Jackie worked at the garment factory for several years, and as a care-giver for a special needs child, as well as, at an elderly care facility.  While enjoying her profession, she realized that something was missing and she found that to be the future father of her children, Bryain K. Wilridge. They met, married and had the two most beautiful daughters that became the desires of both their hearts.

After realizing the love and passion she had to meet the needs of others she decided to attend Lafayette General Nursing School Program and became an LPN.  Her first and only assignment was with Ochsner Acadia General Hospital (formerly known as American Legion Hospital) for over 20 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She devoted countless hours caring for each patient as if they were her only patient and as if they were her own family.  Due to this devotion  she was honored to become the first recipient of the Daisy Award for Excellence in Nursing.  Words cannot express the love, devotion, loyalty, commitment and dedication she experienced every day working in that hospital with the people she worked with, as well as, raising her daughters during that process.

Jackie enjoyed spending time with her beloved daughters, Delise and Danashia, traveling to Jamaica, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Cazumal, to name a few, going on cruises, Zydeco dancing, and entertaining that financially profited her greatly.  She loved to listen to Reverend Christopher Arvie, Sr. for years in Crowley and then as he relocated to New Orleans.  She worshipped, virtually, with him and the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church family and friends every Sunday.

Jackie is survived by her loving daughters, Delise Wilridge and Danashia Wilridge of Lake Charles, LA; three brothers, Elton Landry and Kedrick Kennedy, both of Rayne, La. and Nathaniel Kennedy of Conroe, Tx., one sister; Tracey (Michael) Beverly, Sr. of Rayne, La., a special niece; Taylen Kennedy of Rayne, La., as well as, a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Jaquelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elton Kennedy & Inez Babineaux-Kennedy; her brothers, Timmy Kennedy and Tommy Kennedy and the father of her daughters, Bryain K. Wilridge.
