James Reginald Edwards, 62, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2020, at Golden Age Nursing Home of Welsh, LA.  James was born on August 19, 1957 in Jennings, LA.  He was a graduate of Jennings High School and later enlisted in the United States Army National Guard.  After serving six years, he received an honorable discharge.  James worked for Lee Vac Industries and later was employed by Super Foods in Jennings as a delivery driver.  James was baptized at an early age and was a former member of Union Baptist Church in Jennings.

James is survived by his children, James Edward Jr. (Tenika) of Jennings, Brittney Edwards and Joseph Edwards, both of Jennings, LA; sister, Wanda Simon (Terry) of Jennings; brothers, Michael Edwards and Douglas Edwards, both of Jennings.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Marie Edwards; parents, Wildon Edwards and Martha Vickers Edwards.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street, Jennings, Louisiana.  Terry James Simon, Jr. will officiate.  Visiting will be in the chapel from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral.  Burial will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery in Jennings, LA., under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA
