Jeffrey William James Chretien, 39, of Jennings, LA, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, after a tragic accident. Jeffrey was born on April 13, 1987, in Jennings, LA, to his beloved mother, the late Annabell Chretien. Jeffrey was educated in the Jefferson Davis Parish School System and graduated from Jennings High School. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Jeffrey loved working with his hands, listening to music, taking apart electronic items, and putting them back together. He always enjoyed going to the library, doing research, and reading books. He was a former volunteer at the Jennings Head Start School and later was an Event Coordinator Assistant. Jeffrey loved helping other people and was loved by many in the communities of Jennings, Elton, and the surrounding areas.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Annabel Chretien; his maternal grandparents, Robert Chretien Sr. and Irene Chretien; his aunt, Rita Chretien; two uncles, Robert Chretien Jr. and Dalton Chretien; and his 1st cousin, Johnnette Chretien.
Jeffrey's memories will be cherished by his brother, Dominic Chretien of Jennings, LA; a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026, in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street in Jennings, LA. Reverend Franklin D. Lewis Sr. will officiate. Visiting will be in the chapel from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the celebration service. Cremation will follow under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
