Jermaine Joseph Glodd, II

Jermaine Joseph Glodd II, affectionately known as "Jay," departed this life on July 11, 2026, at the age of 25.

Jermaine was born on August 24, 2000, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Jessica Groves and Jermaine Glodd. He was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Jimmy Stevens.

Jermaine was a graduate of Barbe High School, where he was a proud member of the cheerleading team. His passion for cheerleading led him to compete with several cheer organizations, including LA Cheerz. Through dedication and hard work, his teams earned numerous championship titles. Following high school, Jermaine continued his cheerleading career at Lamar University. He also found great joy in coaching others, teaching tumbling and stunting to aspiring athletes.

Beyond cheerleading, Jermaine was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and willingness to help others. His desire to care for people inspired him to pursue a career in healthcare. He earned his Medical Assistant Certification and later attended nursing school at SOWELA Technical Community College, where he was working towards a degree in nursing.

Jermaine cherished spending time with family and friends. He could often be found in the kitchen expressing his creativity through baking and cooking.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Jessica Groves and Jermaine Glodd; stepfather, Jesse Guillory; siblings, Tyler Glodd, Jesse Guillory Jr., and Sasha Guillory; grandparents, Gwendolyn Semien and Ronnie Groves (Helen Martin); nephews, Carter Glodd and Beaux Guillory; niece, Amara Guillory-Coleman; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Glodd Pitts; great-grandparents, Mary Pete Semien, Alberta Groves, Antoine and Mary Ellen Semien.

Though his journey on earth was brief, the love, compassion, and light Jermaine shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, perseverance, and service will never be forgotten.
