Jerry Louis George, Sr

Mr. Jerry Louis George Sr., 70, of Dequincy, LA. passed on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. Jerry was born on August 2, 1955, in Lafayette, LA, and was a resident of Dequincy, LA. Upon completing his education, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army in 1972 and received an honorable discharge in 1975. In civilian life, Jerry was self-employed as a General Contractor and worked mostly in residential housing construction & remodeling.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, John Guidry, Sr. and Jerry L. George Jr.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Ms. Willie Belle George of Lake Charles, LA; his children, Artinna McZeal (Tyrus) of Houston, TX, Yolanda George of Lake Charles, LA, April George of Eureka, CA, Stella Fontenot of Eureka, CA, Ervin Roy of Houston, TX.; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mrs. Emma Jones (Ben) of Opelousas, LA, and Mrs. Etta Lampkins (Willie) of Grovetown, GA; Mr. Kenneth W. George (Chole) of Westlake, LA, and Mr. Kevin J. George of Welsh, LA, and Mr. John M. Guidry (Carol) of Baton Rouge, LA; his former spouse, Joslyn George; two devoted friends, Mr. Jerome Bushnell of Reading, PA and Ms. Tammy Jones, of DeQuincy, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, in the Church Chapel of Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street in Jennings, LA.  Reverend Nathan Stevens, Pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Welsh, LA. will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Army under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
