Sister Joan Bernard Rubin, 66 , was called to eternal rest at Camelot Brookside on October 11, 2018. Ms. Rubin was born in Jennings, LA on May 11, 1952 to the union of Ruby & Claude Bernard. Sister Joan was a faithful and active member of Mount Triumph Baptist Church, where she served as an usher until her health failed. She was a retired cafeteria employee with the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board. Sister Joan was devoted to helping people.

Sister Joan was a life-long resident of Jennings, LA., where she married the late Robert Rubin. Their union lead to them having a son, Tyrone Rubin and two step-daughters.

Sister Joan leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Cardero & Garrin Rubin both of Jennings, LA; two brothers, Claude Bernard, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO. & Randy Bernard, Sr. of Jennings, LA; one sister, Betty Bernard of Jennings, LA; three aunts, Lorethea Jones, Carrol "Jeanette" Gilbeaux & Jane Gilbeaux all of Jennings, LA; one brother-in-law, John Rubin of Jennings, LA; a host of nieces and nephews.

Sister Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby & Claude Bernard; husband, Robert Rubin; brother, Clemious Ray; two sisters, Effie Louise Bernard and Edith Louise Walker; two uncles, Theodore Bernard and James Gilbeaux.
