Joanne Majoretta Cormier-Malveaux, 71, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, May 22, 2022 with her family by her side.  Joanne was born on October 23, 1950 in Lake Arthur, Louisiana to Willa Cormier and Ernest Davis.  After completing high school, she lived briefly in Tyler, Texas and Chicago, Illinois.  Upon moving back home, she resided in Jennings, Louisiana and worked for Wal Mart Corporation as a Cashier until retirement.  Joanne enjoyed going to the Casino, watching her favorite game show - Family Feud, playing cards and dominos with family and friends and shooting pool.  Joanne was married to the late Wayne Malveaux.

Joanne leaves to cherish her beloved memories, her son and primary caregiver, Elridge Malveaux of Jennings, LA; her mother, Willa Cormier of Jennings, LA; four sisters, Annie Collins (Clifford), July Davis, Denise Davis, and Myrtle Davis; three brothers, Arthur Cormier, Carl Davis, and Wayne Julian (Cynthia); aunt, Barbra Ann Trahan (Gary); two uncles, Benny Cormier (Tamara) of Maryland and Preston Cormier (Thelma) of Lake Charles, LA; four good friends, Ms. Packy, Deborah Gordon, and Sheila Gordon, all of Jennings, LA., and Dorothy Baxter of Lake Charles; a host of other relatives and friends.

Joanne was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Davis; her long-term friend, Robert :Pooky" Carter; her sister, Wilfretta Cormier; two brothers, Ronald Cormier and Elridge Cormier.

Joanne's wishes were to be cremated and her family has honored her request.  The family will announce plans for a memorial service to honor her life and legacy.  Please keep Joanne's son and family in your prayers.
