Mr. John Voris Harmon Jr, 40 passed away at his residence on Friday, October 18, 2013. John was a native and resident of Jennings, LA., and a 1992 graduate of Jennings High School. Currently, John holds an unbroken record in Track and Field at his Jr. High School. John loved playing basketball in his spare time and was known for his "Slamming #30." He was employed with Lee Vac Industries Shipyard as a Foreman and a Certified Welder. John leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Shaunta E. Harmon; seven children, Kendre' T.L. Harmon, D'eondre T. Harmon, Johntaje' S. Harmon, John V. Harmon III, Dre'Riel L. Harmon, Kei'Raiel D. Harmon, all of Jennings, LA., and Stone A. S. Harmon of Elton, LA; three brothers, Joseph Riley, James G. Harmon, and Henry Riley III, all of Jennings; seven sisters, Angela Harmon, Cheverly , MA, Yolonda Harmon, Long Beach, CA., Shirley Freeman, Wilminton, DE., Laresha Harmon, Sacramento, CA., Kayla Janice, of Germany, Doris Riley, and Linda Berry, both of Jennings; Godparents, James and Shirley Harmon; four Godchildren, Jaleesa Harmon, Artresia Prudhomme, Markris Riley Jr., and Barry Hurt Jr. He was preceded in death by both parents, John Voris Harmon Sr., and Joann Charles Harmon. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in the David J. and Rosa W. Fondel Church Chapel. Visitation will be in the Chapel from 8:00 am until the time of Funeral. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Jennings, LA., under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
