Mr. John Larry Sonnier Sr. John Larry "T Black" Sonnier Sr., 72 was born in Gum Cove, LA. to the union of Joseph & Beaulah "Semien" Sonnier on May 4, 1941. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Lake Charles Care Center. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, LA. He was formerly employed by the City of Vinton, LA., Oxy Chemical Plant and Delta Downs. He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, a long-time companion, Edna Mae Sonnier; Kida Sonnier; a special friend, Mary Fuselier whom he lived with, cherished, talked and laughed with all the time. Also left to cherish his wonderful memories, are his children, Tracy & Theresa Leday, Mary Sonnier, Melissa Sonnier, John Larry Sonnier Jr., Patrina Sonnier, Larry Jerome Sonnier; one grandson, Will Joseph Sonnier whom he reared as his son; one brother, Lee James (Phyllis Robinson) Sonnier of Lake Arthur; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and his devoted friends, the Victorians. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Beaulah "Semien" Sonnier; four sisters, Viola (Amos) Perkins, Dorothy (Albert) Arceneaux, Mary Lou (Kelly) Guillory, and Mary (Curley) Simon; two brothers, Joseph Sonnier Jr. and Paul Sonnier. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the David J. and Rosa W. Fondel Sr. Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings, LA. with Reverend Carl M. Fontenot Sr. officiating. Visitation will be in the Chapel form 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral. Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery in Jennings, LA. under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary
