Mr. Joseph "Tom-B" Jones
, age 86, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Southwest Louisiana Veteran's Home. He was a native of Lake Arthur, LA. and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Jones served in the United State Army and was honorably discharged.
Joseph was born on February `5, 1930 to Henry Jones and Alice Duncan Jones. He was a no nonsense guy, but could be funny at times. He loved his cars and his starched stiff blue jeans. His best friend was Rainey McZeal who he always talked about as his buddy. He was very close to his cousins, Willie "Bud" Duncan, Toby Duncan, Lillie Charles and Rosetta McZeal.
Mr. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Josephine Jones of Fontana, CA; son, Alvin (Vivian) Childress of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Henry Jones, Jr. of Mermentau, LA; several step children; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; Brenda Washington who aided in his care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Jones, Sr. and Alice Duncan Jones; sister, Virginia Petrie and a brother.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the David J. and Rosa W. Fondel Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00 am in the chapel until the time of funeral. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA. under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
